Robertson Park Master Plan
At approximately 135 acres, Robertson Park is the largest of LARPD’s special use parks, and hosts a variety of events and activities throughout the year, including the Livermore Rodeo, the Scottish Games, the Fourth of July picnic and fireworks and various sporting events. The park also encompasses a mile-long stretch of the Arroyo Mocho, a major drainage channel whose flood plain can potentially extend over 70 acres of parkland during heavy storm events. When the District previously developed a comprehensive master plan for the park in 1988, it was partly in response to the major changes that were occurring in land use and development patterns in the vicinity of the park and to update the original master plan that was prepared in 1976.
The objective of the Robertson Park Master Plan Update for 2008 is to develop a series of goals for use, management and development of Robertson Park. Throughout the process, public comment and ideas will be solicited to help the District formulate a direction for the park’s development. The District anticipates the master plan process to be completed by fall 2008.
