What makes LARPD Open Space Parks special?
LARPD open space parks allow you to explore nature right in your own backyard. Sycamore Grove Park is highly accessible yet large and ecologically diverse enough to immerse yourself in nature. LARPD rangers offer nature programs for the public and school/community groups. Check out all that we have to offer!

A note for commercial photographers / filmmakers:
Commercial and portrait photographers need to obtain a permit before doing photo shoots in Sycamore Grove and other open space parks within the district. This applies to anyone who will be collecting fees from clients or will be using equipment beyond a camera and tripod. Those who will be filming in the park, whether for a school project or commercial use, also need to obtain a permit. To obtain a permit, call the ranger office at 925-960-2400 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Photography permits must be obtained a minimum of 24 hours before the photo shoot. Permits for projects involving filming may take up to 3 weeks to process so please begin the permitting process well in advance. The fee for permits is currently $25 per day. THIS POLICY IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME; please call 925-960-2400 for current information.
