PoppiesGeneral information
Sycamore Grove Park and Veterans Park are essentially two ends of the same park.

There is a group picnic area at the Veterans Park end which is available for rental. Click here for Veterans Park rental information.

You can park at the main entrance to Sycamore Grove located on Wetmore Road or at Veterans Park on Arroyo Road. A 2.5-mile long paved path connects the two. A number of other dirt paths branch off along the way allowing you to explore a variety of habitats and choose whether you would like to enjoy a leisurely stroll over relatively flat terrain or climb into the hills for fabulous views across the Livermore Valley.

The park is home to a variety of wildlife. Along the Arroyo Del Valle you might see frogs, pond turtles, dragonflies, ducks or even muskrats. In addition to this riparian area there are grassland and oak woodland habitats. Deer, ground squirrels, butterflies, lizards and birds such as red-tail hawks, white-tail kites, scrub jays, magpies and meadowlarks are just few of the animals you might spot in these areas. Click here for nature notes.
