4444 East Avenue 29.86 acres Opened 1971, rededicated September 1991, Community Center dedicated March 2005 Park contains picnic tables, restrooms, baseball areas and tennis courts. Named for the city's namesake. Some $2.3 million worth of Phase I improvements were paid for by the 1987 passage of Measure G, the Gann override initiative. In March, 1999 Livermore property owners approved $20 million to build a community center. Ground breaking took place in 2002 and construction is expected to take about two years. The 71,000 square foot, two-building complex will include a Senior Services Center, a Teen Center and numerous areas for community use and recreation. |
